Frequently Asked Questions about BIOMstat
- What is the current version and service release of BIOMstat? Version
3.30m. If you have a licensed copy of version 3.3 you can download the latest
service release.
- What changes have been made recently? Service release C fixed
problems with user control of the number of decimal places in the listing of
the input data -- especially when importing files from Excel.
Release H fixed an install problem with non-English versions of Windows. Links to
Exeter Software's www site were added to the help menu.
- Is BIOMstat Y2K compliant?. Yes, it is since BIOMstat does not
do anything with dates expect to display today's date in the listing windows.
No computations are performed using dates so it does not matter whether 2
or 4 digits are used to represent the year.
- Maximum size of data sets? There are a few limitations in the
present implementation of BIOMstat. In most places the program using dynamic
storage techniques so there are no explicit limits to the numbers of
observations that can be processed. Several thousand should not be a problem.
On the other hand, there is a limit of 100 groups and 100 variables.
- Problems using BIOMstat? Please be sure to check whether a new service
release is available. You will need a password (contact Exeter Software) and
your present registration serial number. You can
download the file and reinstall (you do not need to remove the present
version).
